방탄소년단의 첫 번째 앨범으로 나왔던 2 Cool 4 Skool은 그들에게는 큰 의미를 부여해주는 앨범이기도 하다. 방탄소년단이 탄생을 예고하고 그들이 세상을 향해서 외치고 싶었던 노래에 관한 이야기가 진솔하게 다가왔다. 처음이라는 낯설지 않은 그런 멋진 단어로 설렘으로 들어 봤던 앨범이었다.

위의 앨범을 통해서 내가 느낀 것은 방탄소년단이 하나의 방탄 가족으로 탄생되기까지의 준비되어 가는 단계의 앨범으로서 기존의 성숙된 앨범과는 구별되기는 하지만 그들의 첫 번째라는 이유만으로도 충분히 만족될 수가 있는 앨범이다. 위의 앨범은 멤버들이 다정히 나누는 대화 속에서 그들이 친해지고 방탄 공동체로 합류되어 가는 과정을 살펴보는 것도 하나의 재미로 다가온 앨범이었다.
What I felt from the above album was BTS' preparation to be born into a bulletproof family,
an album that distinguishes it from the older mature album
but can be fully satisfied just because it is their first.
The above album was one of the fun things to look at as they get closer
and join the bulletproof community in a friendly conversation among the members.
이제 나의 사설은 여기서 그만두겠다.
한곡씩 들어 보면서 그들이 우리에게 준 첫 앨범이라는 기쁨이 어떤 것이 있었는지 살펴보는 시간을 가지도록 하겠다.
Now I'm going to stop my own opinion here.
Let's listen to each song and take a look at what the joy of their first album was.
2번 트랙: 방탄소년단의 정체성을 알려준 노래였다. 그들은 대중에게 방탄소년단이 여기 왔노라 라고 큰 소리로 외쳤다. 그 외침이 메아리로 남지 않았다. 더 많은 사람들은 그들의 존재를 알고 싶어 했다. 바로 방탄소년단이라는 이름을 지을 때 고심을 했다는 뒷이야기가 있다. 원래는 음원사 빅 엔트테이먼트사의 이름을 따서 "Big Kids"로 할까도 했단다. 하지만 세상의 부조리로부터 당당히 서서 그것을 막아내는 방탄 같은 존재로 대중 앞에 서고 싶어 했다. 그래서 그들의 이름을 방탄소년단으로 이름을 지었다.

3번 트랙: 학교 교실의 설정으로 방탄소년단의 소소한 잡담을 나누는데, 태형 (뷔)에게 3년 전에 무엇을 했느냐는
질문에 색소폰을 연주 했다는 이야기를 하자, 멤버들은 그의 남다른 재주에 놀라면서 왜 그만두었냐는 질문에
4차원적인 대답을 하신 우리 뷔.. 하하하하 너무 귀여웠다.
입이 아파서요 하하하하하...................
Track three: With the setting up of the school classroom, they're talking a little bit about BTS,
and they wonder what Taehyung did three years ago.

BTS(방탄소년단) _ No More Dream
4번 트랙: "No More Dream" 곡은 더 이상 말이 필요 없다. 이 곡 하나만 알아도 앨범의 전체적 그림을
알 수가 있는 노래였다. 즉 앨범의 대표곡으로 손꼽힐 만큼 첫인상을 강하게 심어 주었던
그들만의 꿈이 담긴 이야기를 랩으로 풀어간다.
Track four: The song "No More Dreams" needs no words.
It was a song that could tell the entire picture of the album by just knowing the song.
In other words, the rap tells the story of their dreams, which gave them
their first impression, strong enough to be considered the album's representative song.
6 - 7번 트랙 : 랩을 풀어헤치는 순간 즉흥 랩이 주는 즐거움으로 들어보면 재미있는 랩에 빠져든다. 랩이 이렇게 흥이 나는 줄은 몰랐었다. 모든 멤버들이 랩을 시도를 하는 모습들이 눈에 그려진다.
Track 6 - 7 : As soon as you release the rap, you fall into the fun of improvisation rap.

하하 정말 앨범을 듣고 이렇게 폭소해보기는 처음인 것 같다. 하하하....................... 지민이 랩을 못하는 이유를 이제야 알았다. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ하하하.. 다들 이민 가라고 하는 말에 폭소하고 말았다.
Haha. I think it's the first time I listened to an album and laughed this much. Hahaha. I just knew why Jimin couldn't rap. haha. Everyone burst into laughter when they asked to Jimin to emmigrate.

연습생 어찌 보면 나 자체이지만 뭐라고 형용할 수 없는 말. 어딘가에 속하지도 않고 그렇다고 무엇을 하고 있지도 않은 그런 시기 과도기 내가 그 연습생 신분으로 살면서 가장 곤욕스러웠던 건 친척들과 친구들의 언제 나올 거냐고 데뷔 언제 할 거냐고 하는 그 질문들이었다.
나는 답을 할 수 없었다.

왜냐면 나도 모르니까. 나도 그 답을 알 수 없으니까. 자신감과 나에 대한 확신을 갖고 왔지만 나를 기다리던 건 정말 다른 현실 아직도 삼 년이 지난 지금도 내가 나가면 가요계를 정복해버리겠다. 할 수 있을 것 같다 이런 확신을 찼다가도 막상 피디님들과 선생님께 혼나고 나면 내가 정말 아무것도 아닌 것 같은 정말 먼지 밖에 안 되는 것 같은 기분 꼭 마치 내 앞에 푸르른 바다가 있더라도 뒤를 돌아보면 황량한 사막이 기다리는 것 같은 기분
Because I don't know.
정말 그 모래시계 같은 기분에서 그 기분 속에서 내 연습생 3년을 보냈다. 그리고 지금 난 데뷔를 앞두고 있다. 내가 데뷔를 하더라도 아마 다른 사막과 다른 바다가 기다리고 있을 것이다. I really feel like I'm in that hourglass.
그렇지만 조금도 두렵지 않다. 분명 지금 나를 만든 건 지금 내가 본 바다와 사막이닌까. But I'm not afraid at all.
절대 잊지 않을 것이다. 내가 봤던 그 바다와 그 사막을 나는 연습생이닌까.

"2 Cool 4 Skool" 앨범은 방탄소년단이 고등학교 시절 때의 모습을 연상시키는 그런 앳된 모습과 아직은 날개를 펴지 않은 작은 몸짓의 새가 하늘을 향해 몸부림치면서 비상하려는 꿈을 보았다. 그리고 오늘날 2019년 그들은 큰 날개를 펼치고 하늘을 비상하고 있었다. 우리는 그들의 멋진 도약을 꿈꾸었던 첫 번이라는 그 단어가 주는 의미를 되새김질하는 시간을 갖게 되었다. 기뻤고 그리고 재미있게 들었던 방탄의 색깔 즉 일곱 개의 아름다운 색깔을 하늘에 수놓는 꿈을 꾸게 해 주었다. 그들의 꿈은 아름다웠다. 그리고 우리는 그들을 방탄소년단이라고 불러 주었다.
