Their music mixes a heavy metal sound and melodic rock. One of the best albums they made was "To Hell with the Devil." This album had a plantium record in the music industry.

Michael Sweet and Robert Sweet started Stryper 1983. The beginning members were Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar), Oz Fox (guitar), Tim Gaines (bass guitar), and Robert Sweet (drums). They disbanded in 1992, but in 2003 they came out of retirement for a reunion tour. They re-formed the band with the original members, except for Tracy Ferrie(bass guitar), who replaced Tim Gaines. Tim Gaines rejoined the band in 2010 but left the band in 2017. He was replaced by the current bassist, Perry Richardson. Now, the current members are Michael Sweet – lead vocals, guitar (1982–1992, 1999–2001, 2003–present), Robert Sweet – drums, percussion (1982–1993, 1999–2001, 2003–present), Oz Fox – guitar, backing vocals (1983–1992, 1999–2001, 2003–present), and Perry Richardson (2017- current).
스트라이퍼는 스위트 브라더스에 의해서 1983년도에 만들어진 밴드입니다. 그룹의 초창기 맴머를 살펴보자면, Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar), Oz Fox (guitar), Tim Gaines (bass guitar), and Robert Sweet (drums) 대충 이러합니다. 1992년에 해체가 되었지만 2003년도에 재결합 투어를 하고 됩니다. Tracy Ferrie 베이시트를 제외하고는 원래 뱀버들로 구성이 되었습니다. 2004년도에 게 이네스가 그룹을 탈퇴하고 Tracy Ferrie (bass guitar)가 함께했습니다. 하지만 2010년도 다시 그룹으로 들어오게 되고 2017년도에 그룹에서 해고를 당하게 되어 새로운 베이시스트인 Perry Richardson을 영입합니다. 현재 멤버는 Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar), Oz Fox (guitar), Perry Richardson (bass guitar), and Robert Sweet (drums) 함께 하고 있지요.
Stryper uses the Bible verse, Isaiah 53:5, as its theme:
He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
스트라이퍼는 성경 이사야(53장 5절)의 성경구절을 정신적 지주로 삼은 밴드 입니다. 그들의 앨범 로고와 같이 쓰이는 성경구절이라고 합니다.
크리스천 록(메탈)을 일컫는 말은 화이트 메탈이라는 단어를 쓰기도 합니다. 흰색이 순수하다는 의미와 예수님이 양 떼의 하나님이라는 뜻으로 인해서 쓰여듯합니다(보통 양은 흰색을 나타냅니다). 화이트 메탈의 선구자로 여전히 추억 속에 남겨진 밴드입니다.

꼭 크리스천이 아니더라도 거부반응 없이 들을 수 있는 앨범이며, 환상적인 마이클 스위트의 목소리에 분명 반하실 겁니다. 그들은 노래합니다......... 사랑한다고.. 그 사랑으로 인해 그들의 내일이 있음을 알 수가 있었습니다. 신을 찬양하는 노래가 이렇게 아름다울까 생각해 보게 되었습니다.

I heard that lots of Korean people loves "Honestly". I don't think they understand this concept of the song. I think that the sound of this soft ballad is appealing to Korean people. They think this song is just about lovers, about their honest and sincere relationship. However, it is not about human love. It is more than that. It is about God's love towards us: an honest, faithful love.
한국인 정서에 가장 잘 맞아떨어지는 곡으로 Honestly(진정으로)가 있었지요. 위의 곡은 유독 한국에서 가장 많은 사랑을 받았던 곡이었고, 기독교인이 아니더라도 즐겨 들었던 노래일 것입니다. 가사말 내용을 보게 되면 마치 연인을 향해서 맹세를 하듯이 자신의 진실한 하나님을 향한 믿음을 솔직 담백하게 들려주고 있었습니다. 많은 분들이 가사를 이해하는 부분에서 오해가 있었어 연인을 향한 사랑 고백이라고 생각하는데, 사실은 하나님을 향한 사랑에 대한 진실한 믿음을 보여준 노래였습니다.
