Today was a special day. We visited David Bunting's company change of command ceremony. He is my husband's friend. We met new faces and had pleasant conversation. David is a captain in the Marines at Parris Island. Parris Island is well known for making Marines. He is taking charge of the company today. It is wonderful to see him again and his parents too. It was worth the trip to attend the ceremony. Let's see how they do a company change of command.
오늘은 특별한 날이였다. 우리 가족은 남편의 친구인, 데비드의 대대장 부대임명식에 참여하게 되었다. 우리는 새로운 얼굴과 반가운 대화를 나누는 시간을 갖게 되었다. 데비드는 해병대 양성하는 패리스 아일랜드에서 대위의 직위를 지니고 있었다. 그의 대대장 부대임명식이 있는 날이였다. 그를 다시 만나게 되어서 반갑고 그의 부모님도 더불어 보게 되어서 좋았던 순간이였다. 정말 이런 대대장 부대임명식에 참여하기를 잘했다는 생각이 들었다. 이제부터 그들의 부대 대대장임명식이 어떻게 이루어지는지 살펴보자.

The company commanders shake hands with each other. Welcome to the new commander and goodbye to the former commander.
두 대대장이 손을 잡고 악수를 나눈다. 새로오는 대대장을 반기고 떠나는 대대장에게 이별을 고하는 순간이다.
The former commander gives a speech about the company.
예전 대대장의 연설이 있었다.
The new company commander, David, gives a speech to his Marines about how to take care of the company.
새로운 대대장이 된 데비드는 해병대원를 향해서 어떤 방향으로 부대를 이끌지를 말해주고 있었다.
David turns the company over to the First Sergeant to dismiss the unit. This ends the change of command ceremony.
데비드는 부대를 상사에게 넘기고 이제 해산을 시킨다. 이렇게 대대장 임명식이 끝이난다.
It was about a 15-minute ceremony. I like the way the run ceremony right under the tree, so, the Marines can stay in the shade.
I see his thoughtful mind.
15분간의 짧은 부대임명식이였다. 해병대원을 거늘진 나무 아래에서 부대임명식이 이루어진것이 마음에 들었다.
그의 자상한 마음이 엿보인 순간이였다.
We are so happy to see David and this new chapter of his career. After the ceremony we went together to eat lunch and say goodbye to him. Hope to see you again soon.
"Congratulations! David. I am so proud of you!"
새로운 커리어의 한장을 열어가는 데비드를 보게되어 기뻤다. 부대임명식이 끝나고 함께 식사를 마친 후, 작별을 하게 되었다. 다시 보게 될 그날을 기대해 본다.
