여행을 꿈꾸어 보신 적들이 있나요?
여행을 하면 어릴 때 수학여행을 경주로 간 기억이 많이 납니다. 그 당시에는 내가 커서 이렇게 외국에 나와서 생활을 하게 될 줄은 몰랐지요. 초등학교 6학년 때인 것 같습니다. 그때 외국 영화에 등장한 멋진 영화배우를 보면서 크면 저런 멋진 외국 남자 만나서 결혼하고 싶다는 생각은 했었습니다.
외국으로 나가서 더 큰 꿈을 펼쳐 보고 싶었고 꼭 가게 된다면 유럽 쪽으로 여행을 갔다가 오고 싶은 마음이 생겼습니다. 참 재미있는 것은 유럽을 여행하는 대신에 에티오피아를 방문하게 되었습니다.
사진으로 보인 하늘은 마치 물감을 하늘에 풀어놓은 모습으로 아름답게 물이 들어가고 있었습니다.
멋진 하늘을 날아서 로마에 도착한 후 30분을 연착하게 되었습니다. 내 마음은 로마에 내려서 구경도 하고 싶었고 멋진 건물들을 사진에 잔뜩 담아 오고 싶었지만 그럴 수 없는 안타까움이 더한 그런 여행이었습니다.
이곳에서는 특별히 짐꾼이 있습니다. 그들의 직업은 손님의 짐을 택시에다 실어주고 팁을 받습니다.
이곳을 처음 방문했을 때의 느낌은 옛날 우리나라의 60-70년대를 상상할 수 있는 그런 거리의 모습이 참 신기하도록 친근감이 있었습니다. 단지, 피부색과 그들이 사용하는 언어와 문화적인 차이가 다를 뿐이지 살아가는 모습은 비슷한 모습들이었습니다. 살아가면서 꼭 한번은 다른 나라의 색다른 멋과 풍경이 있는 곳을 가 본다면 더 없이 우리 삶에 새로운 활력소로 남겨줄 것입니다.
마지막으로 글을 마치면서 우리 딸아이가 요즘 좋아하는 한국 가수의 노래가 있다고 하면서
