제이홉에 관련된 글은 우리 큰딸 아라를 위한 글이기도 하다. 처음 제이홉에게 관심이 갔던 것은 우리 아라 때문이었다. 아라가 힘든 정신적 싸움을 견디고 있을 당시, 제이홉이 딸에게 희망을 안겨다 주었다. 어느 날 아라는 말했다. 울면서 하는 그 말을 잊지를 못한다.

 

The article is dedicated to my oldest daughter, Ara. The first time J-Hope got my eye was because of my Ara. When Ara was suffering through her mental health battle, J-Hope brought hope to my daughter. One day Ara said to me. I coudn't forget what she said when she had tears in her eyes. 

 

"엄마.. 내가 왜 제이홉이 좋은지 알아?"

"왜 좋아하니?"

"응 제이홉은 희망을 준다고 해. 그래서 이름이 희망이래. 나에게도 희망이 찾아왔으면 좋겠어."

 

"Mom... do you know why I like J-Hope?" 

"Why do you like it?" 

"J-Hope says he want to give everyone hope. That's why his name is Hope. I hope that hope will come to me someday." 

 

이랬던 우리 아라가 처음 정신병원으로 들어가던 날. 나의 가슴은 무너져 내렸다. 우리 딸을 바라보는 마음은 마치 세상에 무엇을 다해서라도 도와주고 싶었다. 어둠에 있는 그녀의 정신을 되돌리는 길이 없었다. 그런 가운데도 우리 아라는 제이홉은 기억했다. ㅠㅠ 제이홉의 마스코트인 망을 안고 쓰다듬던 모습을 기억한다. 그런 아라의 사랑이 되었던 제이홉에 관련된 이야기를 몇 번이고 꺼내고 싶었다. 이제는 어느 정도 안정을 찾고 있는 아라를 바라보면서 한편으로는 안심이 되기도 하지만, 언제 또 아픔을 겪을지 모르는 상태였다. 그래도 아라는 방탄소년단의 제이홉이 주는 희망을 품 안에 품고 있었다. 그리고 우리 딸 아라는 그 희망의 끈을 놓지 않았다. 

 

When Ara went to the mental hospital for the first time, my heart collapsed. What can I do to help my daughter to get better. There was no way to touch her mind in darkness. In the midst of that, Ara still remembered J hope. ㅠㅠ  The J-hope pet mascot, Mang, was watching over her. I wanted to write a story about J hope a number of times but I couldnt do it then. It was too emtional at that time. Whenever Ara looked at Mang, she found peace and is now getting better all the time. Her condition may change suddenly, so I have to watch over her closely. The member of BTS, J hope, gave to my daughter a great hope. She woundn't give up hope yet. I want her to continue to hope for future dreams.

제이홉에 관련된 글을 쓰면서 마음으로 울고 있는 나를 발견한다. ㅠㅠ 너무나 힘든 시간을 겪었기에 우리 아라가 얼마나 힘들었을지를 알기에.. 그 큰 품으로 아라에게 희망의 메시지를 건네주었던 제이홉에 대한 이야기를 시작한다. 서두가 길어진 것은 내 사랑인 아라가 부디 희망적인 긍정적 사고로 살아가기를 바라는 마음이 가득했기 때문이다.

 

Writing about J-Hope, I find myself crying in my heart. She's been through such a hard time that she knows how hard it must have been. So, with open arms, I begin the story of JHope, who gave Ara a message of hope. This introduction was so long because of my love for Ara, that she is full of hope for a life of positive thinking.

 

 

 

지민 💜❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 제이홉

 

영국의 방송국에서 인터뷰를 했던 장면이 떠 올랐다. 방탄소년단 중에서 누가 제일 춤을 잘 추느냐는 질문에 제이홉이라고 당당하게 말했던 장면이 생각났다. 그만큼 춤꾼으로 인정을 받은 인물이고 우리 제이홉이 무대 위를 오르면 한 마리 새가 날아드는 듯 그렇게 멋진 춤을 보여주었다. 그의 타고난 춤 실력과 랩이 하나가 되어서 방탄소년단의 중심적 역할을 해내고 있다. 그는 테니스를 잘 친다고 한다. 그룹의 멤버 중 진과 테니스를 친적도 있다고 하니 실력은 인정받은 것이나 다름이 없다. 그리고 쉬는 날은 가족과 함께 지내는 것을 선호하는 아주 지극히 가정적인 면도 보이는 제이홉이다. 그의 긍정적 에너지가 많은 청소년들의 가슴에 빛과 같이 내려왔다. 마치 제이홉이 우리 아라에게 전해 주었던 그런 희망의 메시지를 다른 사람도 받기를 원한다.

 

There was an interview on a British television. When they asked which dancer is the best among BTS, one of the dance instructors told them, it was J- Hope. He was recognized as a top dancer, when J-Hope showed such wonderful dance moves as if he were flying like a bird on stage. His has natural dancing and rapper skills. It makes him play a central role in BTS. He is said to be good at tennis. He often played tennis with Jin, a member of the group, and his skills have been recognized. On his day off, J-Hope, who is very family oriented, prefers to spend time with his family. His positive energy came down to the hearts of many teenagers with light. It's as if J-Hope wants others to receive that message of hope that J-Hope delivered to my daughter Ara. 

 

그는 말한다. 자신을 사랑할 줄 알아야 한다고 말이다. 그렇다. 자신을 사랑할 줄 아는 사람이 다른 사람도 사랑을 할 줄 알게 된다. 조사한 바에 의하면 제이홉과 지민은 숙소에서 제일 큰방을 쓰고 있으며 그들은 룸메이트라고 한다. 사람들과 친화력이 좋은 두 사람의 만남 그리고 긍정적 에너지가 마치 우리들에게 좋은 느낌을 안겨다 준다. 아라에게 팬레터라도 쓰라고 했더니 쑥스러운지 안 한다고 한다. 그런 순진한 모습을 보면서 마음으로 좋아하는 제이홉이 그녀의 희망이 되었다. 

He says, you have to know how to love yourself. Yes, people who know how to love themselves know how to love others. According to the survey, J-Hope and Jimin have the biggest room in their dorms and they are roommates. The encounter between two people and positive energy makes us feel good. I asked Ara to write a fan letter, but she said she wouldn't do it. She don't want to be embarrassed. Deep inside, she loves J-Hope, because he became her hope when she saw such negativity.  

 

나는 생각한다. 한줄기 빛과도 같은 희망을 놓지 않는다면 허무하게 인생을 마감하는 일도 없을 것이며, 낙망하며 스스로에게 죄책의 짐을 안겨다 주는 일도 없을 것이다. 우리의 마음은 희망이라는 단어가 주는 아주 큰 에너지를 느낀다. 특히 필자는 우리 딸 아라를 통해서 그 희망이라는 단어가 어떤 의미인지를 알게 되었다. 오늘날 청소년에게 희망이라는 멋진 두 글자의 선물을 안겨주고 바로 방탄소년단이 주고자 하는 메시지를 담고 있었던 그 인물이 제이홉이었던 것이다.

 

I think if you don't let go of a ray of hope, you'll never end your life in vain.  Without hope, you'll be disappointed and burdened with guilt. There will be no giving. Our minds feel a great deal of energy given by the word hope. In particular, I learned the meaning of the word hope through our daughter Arah. J-Hope was the one who gave the teenager today a wonderful one-word gift of hope and that is the message that BTS wanted to give. 

 

제이홉의 희망이 전달되었을 때, 우리 딸은 절망 가운데 피어나는 꽃을 발견했다. 필자는 오늘 제이홉이 전해주는 아름다운 희망적 메시지에 대해서 나누어 보았다. 그것이 얼마나 큰 파문을 일으켰고 큰 힘을 안겨다 주었는지를 알고 있다.

 

When J-Hope's hopes were delivered, our daughter found flowers blooming in despair. Today I shared J-Hope's beautiful message of hope. I know how much it caused a stir and gave me a lot of strength. 

 

우리는 기억한다. 제이홉이라는 방탄소년단의 아름다운 보석을 말이다. 그 보석은 다이아몬드였다. 그리고 우리들은 사막 가운데에서도 희망이라는 꽃이 피어난다는 사실을 알게 되었다. 그래서 고마웠고 반가웠던 인물이 제이홉이었다.

 

We remember. The beautiful jewel of BTS named J-Hope. The jewel was a diamond. And we found that there are flowers of hope in the desert. So, I was the person who was grateful and glad to see you. 

 

너무나도 형편없지만 그래도 진심이 전달되는 마음으로 쓰는 글로 우리 딸 아라가 좋아하던 제이홉에 대한 회상의 글을 마칠까 한다. 수많은 수식어가 그를 따라간다 할지라도 나는 단연코 제이홉이 주는 희망이라는 단어를 잊지를 못한다. 그 희망적 메시지 받고 체험했던 아라의 일상들이 바로 산 증인이 되어 나타났기 때문이다.

 

I think I'll finish writing about J-Hope, my daughter A-ra's favorite, with a heart-to-heart word. I can't forget the word J-Hope gives me, even though so many follow him. This is because Ara's everyday life, which she experienced after receiving that hopeful message, turned out to be a living testimony.
